So things are going pretty great over at GarageBand.com. Last week, my tune "Cloud Seeding" was Track of the Day in the Indie Pop sub-genre. But now it has been selected Track of the Day in the Pop genre, which is pretty huge. So listen listen listen! Click below to go straight there.
Also, check out the exhibitions page for a list of my upcoming shows. I'm looking to play with some other acts at several of these venues, so if you're interested, please let me know and we'll see what happens. Talk to you again soon.

Hello there, friends and foes. I wanted to update again so soon to announce that my tune at GarageBand.com has reached round 3 and is sitting at #5 in the Indie Rock charts. Cool. So go listen to it.
I wanted to tell you, too, that Perry Wright of the Prayers and Tears of Arthur Digby Sellers will be joining me on June 8th for my gig at The Alibi Bar, so if you weren't sure whether you were coming or not, this ought to make your decision easier...one way or the other. ;) And I've got another gig at The Cave coming up on June 28th. It's an early show on a Wednesday night, but that doesn't mean it won't be great. It will.
That's it for now, folks. Talk to you soon.
Yours - His,
Hunter

Greetings everyone. I'm pleased to announce that my tune "Cloud Seeding" is maintaining a 5 star rating and is sitting at #18 in the charts over at GarageBand.com! So if you haven't taken a listen, please do 'cause the world has spoken. Kind of.
Also, I've got a few more shows booked, so check out the exhibitions page for all the info you ought to need. And please come out to one or more of the shows and enjoy some tunes. Keep checking back, and take care.

Happy Mother's Day to anyone who has a mother out there. I'm assuming that at one time or another, you must've. I've got at least a couple things to report. Firstly, I've got another gig coming up in June. I'll be playing at The Alibi Bar on June 8th. I'm looking for someone to share the bill with, so so far I'll be solo. I might change the time on you in the future, but right now I'm going to say it starts at 9pm. So be there! More info here: exhibitions
And this Tuesday, May 16th, I'll be playing at The Red Room in Raleigh as part of their Green Room variety show. It starts around 10pm and I'm not sure when I'm playing exactly. It's a neat place, though, so come out and enjoy some drinks and fancy fingerfoods. It'll be a short three-song set, but it's fun to see people reading speeches and painting and hitting electrified rollerskate wheels attached to a crutch.
Lastly, I'm proud and happy to announce that my tune "Cloud Seeding" is sitting at #19 in the current Indie Rock charts over at GarageBand.com and has been selected Track of the Day for next Thursday, May 18th! Isn't that awesome? It is. So if you haven't heard what all the fuss is about, click the link below and check it out for yourself! And as always, thanks for coming. See you next time!
Guilelessly,
Hunter

As an incentive to those of you who visit this site as well as or in lieu of the MySpace site, I'm telling you about my new tune first. Take that everyone else! Just kidding, I am fond of all of you. I just threw it into rotation at GarageBand.com, so check out the tune and give it a glowing review! Just click below:
And if you're in the Carrboro/Chapel Hill, NC area, check out the exhibitions page for info on where to see me in person. Talk to you all again soon!

There's good news and bad news. The bad news is the Elliott Smith tribute is over. But check it out anyway for some neat pictures. We had a blast, but it's time to focus back on my own gigs. This is where the good news comes in! I have a couple shows to announce, so here I go. The first:

And the second:

So do yourself a favor, wink wink, and come out to the shows! On the radio what I just did is known as a "call to action," where I sort of command you to do something. That's a big no no. But here? I don't care! COME TO THE SHOWS! I'll make it worth your while...by means. In any case, though, thank you as always for visiting the site and listening to the tunes. Keep on coming! Oh no, I did it again...

Wow, has it been this long? Where was I for all of March? I was here in my hideout...scheming. I was making this happen:
And it's been quite an adventure so far. Last week I was on the radio, WKNC 88.1, promoting the tribute. Collaterally, I ended up playing one of my own tunes and getting two of them thrown into rotation. Whoa. I'll be on next Friday, April 14th, at 6pm promoting the show some more, so be sure to listen. And keep an ear out for "One, Two" and "La Luna Nueva" spinning at random times during the day.
I've been forging new friendships these past several weeks and getting to spread my music around the city. So don't let this dry spell of updates discourage you from checking in. I promise news and happenings in the near future. In the meantime, come to the Elliott Smith tribute! I'll be there and so will lots of ridiculously good bands. And we'll all be playing Elliott songs! Not that I ever knew him, but he seemed like a fine man worthy of celebrating. So come out and stay healthy. Talk to you again very soon.
Yours in Music,
Hunter

I must unfortunately announce that I won't be able to play tonight at The Scene in Greensboro with the Tongue Friction Massacre. The showtime was bumped ahead a couple of hours against the band's power so I won't be able to make it. I apologize for any inconvenience if you were planning to see me. Go anyway and see TFM because they're great. Stay tuned for more.

Hello all. I've been busy organizing the Elliott Smith tribute show, but I am doing some shows of my own which I encourage you to attend. In particular I'm excited about this Friday's show with Tongue Friction Massacre. Don't try to imagine a tongue friction massacre, instead imagine swirling guitar and booming trapkit. Come out to see us if you know what's good for you:

If you're reading the site today, and if you're willing to stay out late on a schoolnight, come to the Red Room around 10pm to catch me singing a few tunes for the Green Room variety show (or more accurately, the open-mic portion). Wee!
I have a new CD coming out soon. Please keep checking back for new tunes, or visit my various other internet presences to listen to the songs ahead of time. And please keep checking back for more things.

Welly, welly, welly, well. If that last bulletin wasn't reason for sneezin', perhaps this is! My little song "Dead Ringer" has been chosen as Indie Rock Song of the Day at GarageBand.com! That day will be next Friday, February 10th. I am excited about this and I hope you'll all go take a listen to what all the ado is about.
And as always, thanks for visiting the ol' homepage and come back again soon.

Wow! I'm not sure if this
is anything to sneeze at, but my tune "Dead Ringer" made it to round
two on GarageBand.com! That's
pretty cool. And better yet, the version on that site isn't even the final one,
so if they like the old one, they'll adore the new one. Or maybe not, but it's
fun to read reviews and such. So, if you haven't checked it out, do:
Send me some feedback on the site. And if you want to hear the final version (as well as another new track), check out MySpace.com. And as always, stay tuned for updates and such (psst! There might be a tour on the horizon). Talk to you later, friends.

Ladies and gentlemen, if you've always wanted to be cool, or are and just need some validation, then please click on the poster below this sentence:
That's right, I am the one band so far, but that won't be for long. If you're in the area and you make music, sign right up! And if you're just a really cool person, stay tuned for an event date and then come out and join the celebration.
In the meantime, though, come out and see me this Saturday at Helios Coffee Company! My good friends The Sibling Project will be playing a special acoustic set that'll be something to see. Come out and enjoy some coffee. Talk to you all later.

Check out the new tune at my humble GarageBand.com site:
Leave your comments and criticism. Can't wait to hear what you think. Thank you everyone for listening.

Please come out and see a show. And enjoy a mighty fine cafe miele while you're at it. I'll have brand new CD's to peddle to those who're interested. Hope to see you there!

See exhibitions page for further details.

No more letters. It's confusing and silly. Happy new year to everyone who visits this place. My guitar is being repaired in Chicago right now, so I'm a little sad without it. I've been recording though using my keyboard and electric guitar and I'm thinking of putting together an EP of some kind to peddle at shows. It would come complete with hand-drawn images smelling of wine and roses. I mean, if that's your thing. I have no shows to report right now, but once I get my...um, axe back, I will go back out and sing. Would you guys and girls participate in a forum if I began one? I could talk to everybody instead of just posting into the clear blue. Let me know. I hope all of you are doing alright. Talk to you soon.

My Dear,
Another show has been added to the appropriate page. I will be singing songs this time preceding Danny (with a y) and Lindsey (with an e) from The Sibling Project. Please attend if you enjoy this sort of thing.
Ours,
Yours xoxo

Dear Alex,
A turn of events involving a Chinese restaurant, knitting needles and a coffee shop has me up on stage this Saturday evening. Please check the exhibitions page for details. It's short notice, but please do attend if you're able. Bring as many people as you can.
Yours,
Jim

Dear Alex,
This is a strange and tragic coincidence: I have returned to find you've gone. But I am not heartbroken as I should be since we shall finally rendezvous someday. In the meantime, to keep me from going completely crazy, I have set up an exhibition. So, m'dear, should you find yourself in the area and during the time: exhibitions. Until then, be safe and lose the critic in you. See you sooner than later.
Always,
Jim xoxo

Dear Alex,
While sitting at the kitchen table, indulging myself with fresh fruit and a tall glass of milk, the light from the cul de sac outside flooded in. And I'm not just saying that, either. The light...it was everywhere. At some point, while island-hopping to safety, a short live set of mine was recorded. When you can get to higher ground and ride this thing out, please check the demonstration page for links to the new tunes. It's been tough lately dodging the debris, but this honeydew is delectable. I wish you were here to enjoy it with me. Until next time...
Yours,
Jim xoxo

Dear Alex,
Perhaps posting news on a website in the form of letters to you, a fictional, yet very real person, is a poor way to go. That's tough, though. I'm not going to stop. In fact, I'm expanding things. Like, for instance, look at this: purevolume. Please go check it out, and tell your friends about it. Unfortunately, for those of you who keep up with me, there's little of interest but a self-deprecating, dryly-humored autobiography written as if I didn't know who I was. Anyhoo, don't forget to go here, because Doug and I worked hard. Farewell for now.
Yours,
Jim xoxo
